Ashes Player Watch

Ricky Ponting (Aus) – Right Hand Batsman

Ricky Ponting is a key player for Australia as he is the Captain and most experienced batsman in the line up, however he has a big point to prove after some recent lackluster performances.

Kevin Pietersen (Eng) – Right Hand Batsman

Having being left out the ODI matches against Pakistan to play 4 day cricket for his new County Surrey, can Kevin Pietersen rediscover his form of 2005 and help England retain the ashes.

Mitchell Johnson (Aus) – Left Arm Seam Bowler

After a promising start to his test career with the ball and showing some good promise with the bat can Mitchell Johnson lead the Australian team to victory down under?

Andrew Strauss (Eng) – Left Hand Batsman

England’s Captain and rock of the last 12 months is sure to come under intense pressure opening the batting for England. Can he overcome the force of Australia’s bowling attack to keep the ashes?
