The Olympic Games in London is Sceduled to Start on the 27th of July and end on the 12th August 2012. Due to this there will be two ashes series tests in 2013. This is an unprecedented turn of events and a throwback to the 1974/5 back-to-back ashes series that saw two ashes cricket series played with a gap of just five moths

The Dates for forthcoming Ashes Series are as Follows:

  • Tour in Australia 1st Test
  • Location: Gabba, Brisbane
  • Date:28th November 2013

Former England coach Peter Moores said about the aforementioned situation: “To be playing your showpiece series twice in quick succession without the gap in between would be tough and not necessarily the easiest sell – sometimes the gap in between can be part of the attraction.”
